U2 : All your bases are belong to us

Je suis tombé par hasard sur un fantastique article de Mr McGuinness, l'agent du groupe U2. Vous savez, c'est le groupe du chanteur Bono. Celui dont j'ai déja parlé dans un billet, pour le féliciter de son hypocrisie fiscale qui se résume en "Payez plus pour les pauvres pendant que moi je fraude mes concitoyens". En bref, un méchant enculé.

Eh bien vous serez content d'apprendre que son agent n'est pas beaucoup plus subtil. Je reprends les meilleurs moments de son article avec ma traduction.

"What I'm trying do here today is identify a course of action that will benefit all: artists, labels, writers and publishers."

Traduction : Tous ensemble contre les citoyens ordinaires, on doit se mobiliser pour continuer à vivre comme les rois de la terre.

"The Vertigo Tour in 2005/2006 grossed $355m and played to 4.6m people in 26 countries."

Traduction : Nous sommes au bord du gouffre, on doit absolument augmenter nos revenus sinon on va devoir vendre un jet privé.

"People all over the world are going to more gigs than ever. The experience for the audience is better than ever. This is proved by the upward trend in ticket prices, generally un-resisted. The live business is, for the most part, healthy and profitable."

Traduction : On charge de plus en plus cher et le monde paient pareil ! Ce qui prouve que les gens doivent payer plus cher.

"There are other reasons for the record business's slow response to digital. The SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) of the '90s pan-industry, was a grand but ill-fated plan to try and agree rules between the content and technology industries. It went nowhere."

Traduction : Les méchantes compagnies de technologie ne veulent pas prendre notre problème en charge. Ils refusent de faire la police pour les compagnies de musique. Les salauds.

Traduction : Nous voudrions mettre en oeuvre des technologie de surveillance afin de suivre à la trace chaque téléchargement d'internet. Idéalement, il faudrait que tout ca soit payé par les compagnies technologique. Le gouvernement devrait aussi mettre en oeuvre une nouvelle gestapo afin de pouvoir mettre les gens qui téléchargent des fichiers inadéquats en prison ou, idéalement les torturer et les mettre en prison. Nous avons commencé un lobby important pour qu'une exception soit faite au niveau de la torture lorsqu'elle implique un vol de musique.

Traduction : Il faudrait une loi pour que tous les compagnies de technologies du monde soit forcées d'acheter mon produit de filtre internet.
